Noise Solution pairs musicians with at-risk young people who tell their stories through a secure digital platform that can be accessed by an agreed list of case workers and family members.
The digital stories, which capture weekly reflective conversations between music mentors and young people, are recorded and posted on a bespoke social media-style feed for targeted, consented sharing. Participants talk about how the session went, how they felt, what worked and what didn't. They might demonstrate a new skill or achievement or post a track they created using music technology.
Since 2009, the social enterprise has been at the forefront of cutting-edge digital technology, using its digital platform to bring carers and children's services professionals together in a young person's mentoring journey. It is now leveraging generative AI to take the transcripts of each person's video reflections and analyse what they are saying, providing the numbers and stories to show how the sessions are working. The data capture is set to go live “within weeks”, following eight years of research and a rigorous process to ensure ethical and legal integrity.
