Sara moved from Hampshire to Surrey when she moved in with her birth father and stepmother; her school file should have followed her to the new school with any child protection files.

The child protection file would have had information shared with the school about any previous concerns, including the domestic abuse and custody court case between her birth mother and father, Urfan Sharif. The DSL in the receiving school should have read the file, taken note of it, and started a new child protection file if any other concerns arose in the new school.
