
According to Surrey Police a post mortem into her death found she “had suffered multiple and extensive injuries, which are likely to have been caused over a sustained and extended period of time”.
Surrey Safeguarding Children Partnership's (SSCP) independent chair Derek Benson has confirmed that a local child safeguarding practice review will be undertaken.
“This review will be independently led by the SSCP and is a statutory process that will bring together partners including the police, health, social care and education to review the practice of all agencies involved with the family and identify any learning,” he said.
Last month Sara’s father Urfan Sharif, 41, his partner Beinash Batool, 29, and Sara’s uncle Faisal Mailk, 28, appeared at Guildford Magistrates’ Court charged with her murder and causing or allowing the death of a child.
