
We are pleased that the new government has made it one of its priorities, and pledged to tackle child poverty and alleviate its effects on current and future generations. At NCB, we have been working to ensure action is taken swiftly.
Since its creation in 1984, the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Children (APPGC), which NCB coordinates on behalf of MPs and Peers, has been at the forefront of ensuring that children’s voices reach the highest levels of government, and that their needs are taken into account in policymaking.
When the APPGC met in October to elect its two new chairs, Labour MP Jess Asato and Lib Deb MP Munira Wilson, it also discussed its priorities, including keeping child poverty at the top of the political agenda.
