Provider Inspired Youth
Name Aspire to More
A website aimed at raising the aspirations of looked-after children and young people has been launched by social enterprise Inspired Youth in partnership with Show Me That I Matter, York's Children in Care Council (CIC).
The Aspire to More project - which was funded through a small grant from the York branch of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation - introduced young people from the CIC to care leavers, who were interviewed about their life journey and documented online in a question and answer style interview.
The children and young people from the CIC hold monthly meetings to raise and discuss issues they believe are important to young people in care in York. At one of these, it was decided that something needed to be done to raise aspirations for children in care by showing the success care leavers have gone on to make of their lives.
