ACTION

Young people in Plymouth struggling with challenges at home or at school are being supported by a project that delivers group work activities on the beach.

SEA-ing Changes is a collaboration between community interest companies Arterne and Beach Schools South West.

It uses family-based intervention to help young people address their emotional and mental health issues which are affecting their home or school life.

The project, now in its second year, provides opportunities for families to spend time together on the beach engaging in both therapeutic and educational activities.

For some of the participating young people, it is the first time they have been to the seaside, says Ali Murray, a Beach Schools practitioner who helps to run the project.
