Nightingale courts not enough to reduce number of child prisoners, say experts

“I am going to be on remand for one year…the delay in my case has been the worst effect of coronavirus,” one child told HM Inspectorate of Prisons amid calls for the government to reduce a huge backlog of trials for both crown and youth courts.
