Ofsted adds early years regulation to role of national director for social care

Ofsted has expanded the role of its national director for social care, Yvette Stanley, by giving her responsibility for the regulation of childcare and childcare policy.

Stanley, who took on responsibility for the inspection and regulation of social care at Ofsted in 2018, will now head-up a newly amalgamated team responsible for early years regulation and social care.

Stanley’s job title will change to national director for regulation and social care, Ofsted has said.

A spokeswoman told CYP Now that Stanley is “now responsible for regulation of childcare and childcare policy as well as social care”.

She added: “As of April this year, we amalgamated the teams in early years and social care who oversee regulatory strategy, policy and practice into an expanded directorate.
