The new edition of CYP Now looks at what latest research says on the links between children's wellbeing and getting enough sleep.

With screen-based technology encroaching into many aspects of families' lives, experts and practitioners explain what is being done to help children get a good night's sleep.

Key measures for children and young people's mental health in the NHS Long Term Plan are analysed. Sector leaders assess whether the plan will tackle problems with community and acute services and improve outcomes for children.

The 12-page special report takes an in-depth look at developments in policy, practice and research in residential child care. Latest data on trends in the use and development of children's homes is presented, alongside expert views from commissioners and providers of placements. Practice examples include a Staying Close pilot, a provider specialising in mental health support, improved education outcomes through an on-site school, and a project to reduce police callouts.
