SUMMARY
Adolescent alcohol use has been linked to poor physical, mental and sexual health and is thought to have a negative impact on brain development, family life and education. The report authors wanted to explore parents' beliefs about their own child drinking alcohol, and underage drinking in general, to find out whether there was a link between their beliefs and their children's alcohol consumption. They also wanted to explore the kind of parental views public health interventions might need to target.
