NYA Update: Child poverty researched in City of York

A study into child poverty in York has been published on the National Youth Agency website.

The report was undertaken by a group of young researchers funded through the National Youth Agency Young Researcher Network and supported the development of the City of York Council's strategy to tackle child poverty and meet the national aim to eradicate child poverty by 2020.

The aim of the research was to make sure the voices of young people affected by poverty are heard to ensure the strategy is effective.

Findings identified challenges facing young people in terms of their aspirations, apprenticeships and money management.
