YPN to host national conference

It is organised by the Young People Now Foundation, a charity set up jointly by Young People Now magazine and The National Youth Agency to support work with young people. It will be the first national event aimed specifically at bringing together people from across the spectrum of work with young people. Young People Now's publishing director, Phil Manley, said: "Conferences with top-calibre speakers are usually very expensive.

But we are devising a system of subsidised places to make the event accessible to frontline workers as well as managers and policymakers, and we will be approaching potential sponsors soon." Stovin Hayter, editor of the magazine, said: "Government policy initiatives are profoundly changing the professional lives of those who work with young people. One of the main thrusts is to bring about collaboration between professional disciplines, and one of the main themes of the conference will be to explore this."
