Youth Work: Marginalised Scots get podcast info

1 min read Youth Work
Youth information agency Young Scot is to use podcasts to help marginalised young people reconnect with society.

The Download Lowdown project uses the process of creating a podcast to bring young people together and share their views during a four-day workshop. Four music artists will travel across Scotland's 32 local authorities during the next year to work with young people on creating the podcasts, which will then be put on Young Scot's website.

The young people involved in the pilot projects will also get the chance to improve their literacy, IT, numeracy and communication skills as well as personal skills such as self-esteem and self-confidence. The young people to be targeted include the homeless, those from ethnic minorities and those not in education, employment or training.
