Youth Work: Funding for Welsh Scout Council

The Welsh Scout Council has been given 142,218 by the Big Lottery Fund to run its Leading the Way outreach project.

The council will employ two volunteer co-ordinators to recruit and train 360 volunteers in Wales, who will then run the Scout programme for 1,350 young people. The volunteers are due to be trained as leaders, assistant leaders and trustees so that they can be part of the support team contributing towards the sustainability of the newly established Scout groups. www.scoutswales.co.uk.
