YOUTH CRIME: Faith groups could help reduce crime

The Home Office minister met with members of the Haringey Peace Alliance and the voluntary sector at the release of the British Crime Survey's latest figures last week.

The figures showed a 14 per cent increase in violent crime, while the use of replica firearms increased by 46 per cent.

Blears said faith-based groups were a way of "reaching out to young people through something inside".
