Mind you, if the boys stayed away too it wouldn't surprise me. Our local community centre only has table tennis and a radio. And the only other place to go is a run-down park. No wonder so many young people hang about on the streets.
I would organise dance lessons in youth clubs or get someone in to do facials or nails.
The lack of things to do has made me want to be a youth worker. I am training to be a peer mentor and have even been out on to the streets with Rathbone's youth engagement team in Liverpool.
I have met youth workers but they didn't really know what they're on about and they didn't do anything to make things better for young people.
