The money, which comes from the Big Lottery Fund, will be used to build a sustainable log cabin for volunteers. Meetings are currently held in two run-down caravans, which house a limited number of people and lack disabled access.
Building the cabin will cost £100,000. Louis Bonney, UK Youth's projects director, said: "With a few more donations, we will be able to complete it in 2009. We will then be able to offer more volunteering opportunities for young people."
