
From cyber-bullying to sexual health and bereavement support, youth information, advice and counselling services help young people deal with a vast range of challenges.
But according to a survey by the membership body for the sector, Youth Access, providers are struggling to protect vital frontline services in the face of increasing demand and diminishing resources.
Results from a survey of 46 agencies, which feature in the report Stretched to the Limit, show that half experienced a drop in income in 2011/12. The cuts continue to be substantial, with an average reduction of 24 per cent and four particular organisations reporting reductions of between 40 and 50 per cent.
