Opening Your Doors to Young People has been developed by Youth Accessamid concerns young people are struggling to access advice on socialwelfare issues such as housing and benefits.
According to the charity, the current failure to meet young people'sneeds is costing the taxpayer 1bn a year and leaving many youngpeople at risk of homelessness or serious debt.
"Citizens Advice Bureaux and legal advice centres are set up to caterfor adults and are not generally young-person friendly," said JamesKenrick, advice services development manager for Youth Access.
"We need training for advice workers in the skills needed to build uptrust with young people and services need to be better promoted as manyyoung people do not know they are there."
