Young to film political project

Young people are being encouraged to produce short films about the laws they would like to make, as part of a Houses of Parliament initiative to get them thinking about the political process.

The Lights, Camera, Parliament! project is calling on schools and youth groups to encourage young people to make short films about the issues they care about and the laws they want to change.

The final date for submission of films is 14 January 2011. The initiative is being backed by peer and film producer Lord David Puttnam. "A better understanding of democracy has never been more important. Here is a brilliant new initiative designed to have exactly this effect."
