The autism and learning difficulties charity has invited 20 adults and young people to take part in a scheme called Speak Up and Make a Difference.
The scheme will offer training and support to allow participants to become part of Dimension's decision-making process. They will join a council in the organisation that will report directly to its board. The first meeting between the council and the board will be next February.
The training provides skills in organising and preparing for a meeting, presentations, governance and problem-solving. Each participant will also be personally supported by a mentor.
Jackie Fletcher, director of continuing improvement at Dimensions, said: "By investing in the people we support and listening to the things that are important to them we can help them live the lives they want."
