Simon Blake, acting manager of the Anti-Bullying Alliance, based at NCB'says the Government needs to ask children and young people for ideas andsuggestions to tackle bullying. Teachers also need to be involved bylistening to children who are being bullied, and keeping it confidentialif that's what the young person wants.
On whether all bullying should be punishable, Simon Blake says: "Allbullying should be taken seriously. Every young person has a right tofeel safe.
However, we also need to make sure bullies know how to stop bullying.Punishment on its own is not going to solve the problem."
If you are being bullied you need to talk to someone you can trust, whocan help stop it. When you tell someone, it is important you also tellthem what you want to happen next so they know how to help you.
