More than 500 young Londoners joined forces to show their opposition to gun and knife crime last week. Young people from the UK Youth Parliament held a one-day conference at the Ministry of Sound nightclub in central London. The event was attended by Home Office minister Vernon Coaker, minister for London Tessa Jowell and mayoral candidates Boris Johnson and Brian Paddick. www.ukyp.org.uk.
