YJB to keep control of offending teams

Youth Justice
The Youth Justice Board (YJB) will not be stripped of its powers in the Youth Crime Action Plan, out next week.

Contrary to national newspaper reports in recent weeks, CYP Now understands the YJB's responsibility for youth offending teams will not be handed over to children's trusts.

A spokeswoman for the Department for Children, Schools and Families declined to comment on the contents of the action plan ahead of its publication but said the YJB would still play a role in tackling youth offending.
