
It has formed a cross-government working group to draw up the plan, which aims to drive forward work on runaways. The group, chaired by Marcus Bell, deputy director for the young people at risk division of the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) will meet for the first time in the last week of January.
Junior children's minister Kevin Brennan said: "I am asking the group to deliver an action plan to be published in June and include a review of emergency accommodation across the country. I want them to review the children missing from care guidance. What we want to understand better is what provision is like across the country."
