The scheme, which received £15,000 from Ashton, Leigh and Wigan Primary Care Trust and the Drinkaware Trust, has been set up by Wigan's Young People's Drug and Alcohol Team.
The idea behind the scheme was that young people were more likely to relate to other young people when discussing alcohol issues.
After being trained by the drug and alcohol team, the 10 peer educators ran sessions for groups of young people about the dangers of drinking.
Antony Simpson, alcohol outreach worker at Wigan Council, said: "At the end of the sessions, a lot of people had changed their behaviour towards alcohol - on nights out they would have a designated sober person to look out for the group."
