With the end of exams and the summer holidays looming, now is a good time to talk to young people about the dangers of drinking excessive amounts of alcohol.

For many young people, the summer holidays signal the end of studying, cramming and exam taking. And how will some of them be letting off steam in the coming weeks? By enjoying nights out with friends and group holidays filled with great weather and boozy parties, without parents. But how much do young people really know about the dangers of excessive boozing?

Start a discussion with young people about the risks of drinking too much alcohol. Have they been personally affected by this? Ask them to share their stories. Talk about how much experience these young people have in drinking alcohol. Do they know when to stop? Do they think that getting drunk is necessary on a night out?
