We must adapt to stay in the driving seat on education

2 mins read Education Management Leadership
Camden has a proud history of placing a high priority on education for all ages and this can be seen in the funding levels we provide relative to elsewhere in London, and indeed the rest of the UK.

Working together with our schools, we set up the Camden Education Commission earlier this year because we believed changes in the education system and wider society require us to look again at what Camden residents need.

The commission, chaired by former head of Ofsted Sir Mike Tomlinson, has been tasked with taking a fiveto 10-year view of education in Camden. It is looking at what is working well and how current education provision can be improved, particularly given the need to adapt to new government policies and to the changing economic picture.

This work has involved a detailed examination of our borough's education provision, including engagement by parents, young people, schools, businesses and politicians. The commission produced an interim report in September that provided a number of issues for consideration.
