Wallace & Gromit's Children's Charity

1 min read Health
Wallace & Gromit's Children's Charity is a national charity that raises funds to improve the quality of life for sick children in children's hospitals and hospices.

Set up in 2003, it has helped 87 children's hospitals and hospices and given out grants totalling more than £1.62m.

How much is available? Grants range between £1,000 and £10,000. The charity funds projects across the UK that are not funded directly by the NHS.

What will it fund? The charity funds projects that enable children to play, socialise and recuperate from treatment in a child-friendly environment while in hospital and hospice care. Grants have previously funded arts, music and play therapy programmes, sensory equipment and facilities, and respite care.

The charity also funds programmes to educate young people on health-related issues. It supports parents and siblings of sick children, providing free family accommodation and pull-down beds, and helps to meet the cost of care in a children's hospice where children and their families are cared for.
