Wales: Union wants more service investment

1 min read

According to the Community and Youth Workers' Union, Wales has had some of the lowest investment levels in youth services in Europe in recent years.

The union held a meeting in Builth Wells, Powys, last week to discuss a response to the Welsh Assembly Government's current consultation on youth services.

"We have to make sure that there is proper resourcing for the proper number of staff on JNC pay, and training to NVQ level 3 qualifications," he said.

Nicholls said the union is now working on its formal response to the consultation, Young People: Youth Work: The Youth Service, which ends on 26 January.
