WALES: UK groups meet European colleagues

1 min read

About 100 youth groups and projects met counterparts from countries such as Italy and France during the sixth international Peer2Peer conference held in Newport on 9 May.

The conference will be used as a catalyst for setting up a European network of communication channels designed to share experiences and develop peer-led services.

The conference, which was planned and developed by volunteers from Youthlink Wales, showcased international projects, with the aim of sharing ideas for developing services that would contribute to their own training and education.

Gareth Jacobs, development manager at Youthlink Wales, said: "We'd like to expand on these achievements for young people with organisations like Connexions." Jacobs explained that the event marked the conference's first-ever presentation of an accreditation award for peer-led youth services and projects.
