It is insulting to suggest that young people will decide to take the serious step of pregnancy based on one news story.
The majority of young people are not sexually active and many young people reading the story will have understood it demonstrates the seriousness of teen pregnancy and the responsibility that comes with it.
We know that some young people feel pressure from their peers to be sexually active and the media's portrayal of youth sexuality is often an unrealistic one.
That is why it is so important that young people are given support and information so they can make informed and positive decisions about their bodies and their future.
