Vox pop - Should parents face charges over LGBT lessons protest?

1 min read Education
Parents who removed their children from primary school during a week of education about gay issues could be prosecuted

YES

Jan Bridget, service manager, GALYIC

There is no excuse for racism, sexism, discrimination against the disabled, ageism, anti-Semitism, anti-Islam, so why should there be an excuse for homophobia? What would happen if parents took their children out of school because they were looking at Eid?

If we are serious about tackling homophobic bullying in the classroom and on the streets then we must tackle religious homophobia. After all, the origins of homophobia come from religion.

What if one of their children is gay, what message are they sending to that child or to any other young lesbian, gay or bisexual person?

YES

Chris Keates, general secretary, NASUWT
