NO - SUE BERELOWITZ, deputy children's commissioner for England
It is important to limit reporting on family court cases to protect vulnerable children and young people.
Children and young people have a right to privacy. They do not want journalists writing about their "private stuff". Court cases can reveal deeply personal issues and they are concerned they could be identified from information about their private lives being made public.
There are more workable solutions to achieving greater transparency in the family courts. Some courts have held successful open days and there are ongoing pilot schemes to test whether more anonymised judgments should be published.
