I don't think the territory belongs to the UKYP - it belongs to young people. Young mayors and members of the UKYP are all trying to do the same thing by giving young people a voice, and having different ways of doing that can only be a good thing.
In Lambeth, we have a youth mayor and a UKYP member and both of us work together. I try to be a figurehead, listening to our young people and representing them locally. Our UKYP member takes those same messages and fights for them on a regional and national level. A few years ago, there were no options for young people who wanted to make their voices heard - now there are several, and that should be seen as a good thing.
