Volunteer of the Year: Anti-bullying project wins Government acclaim

Kirsty Fowler, 18, with DJ Trevor Nelson and TV presenter Sally Gray, celebrates winning the Millennium Volunteer of the Year award last week. Fowler, a volunteer with the charity CSV, won the prize for an anti-bullying project she set up in Barton-le-Clay, Bedfordshire. She was bullied at school from the age of 11 and now hopes to get more funding for the project. Millennium Volunteers is a UK-wide Government programme to encourage young people to volunteer.
