Violent Crime: Youth parliament to produce video

The project is a first for the parliament, which has traditionally concentrated on identifying problems faced by young people, rather than creating practical solutions.

Andy Hamflett, chief executive of the UK Youth Parliament, said the video will be different from other productions on the same subject. "There are lots of videos saying this is a problem," he said. "This is getting hard evidence to young people, saying this is a way out of it."

The video will be based on interviews with young offenders. It will show scenarios where gun or knife crime could become a problem for a young person, and ways to avoid offending.
