UNIFORMED GROUPS: Guide leader appeal sees rise in recruits

Deborah Flatley, Girlguiding UK spokeswoman, said: "This means 4,000 girls can be taken off our list, once applications are vetted and applicants trained and qualified as Guide leaders, unit helpers and assistants, which is a six-month process."

Girlguiding UK will be running a Take Our Daughters to Work day on 18 March.
