Trusts perform well on safeguarding

1 min read Health
Patients have praised health trusts' initiatives to safeguard children, according to the Healthcare Commission.

The watchdog's annual health check of trust performance found 89 per cent of patients were positive about the way trusts are following national child protection guidance. Trusts were also found to be performing well on taking patients' views on safeguarding children into account. Three-quarters of trusts were able to provide the commission with evidence that they had surveyed patients on the issue.

Among the best performing trusts was the Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust. This was among only 42 out of 391 trusts to be given the rating of "double excellent" for both its use of resources and quality of services. This is the second year running the trust has received the accolade.
