Possibly - this is the latest stage in a process that has been going on for 18 months. It stems from the recognition that many consultations with young people have highlighted that travel - or, more pertinently, the lack of it - is a big issue. The government has recognised that if it is to spend money supporting an expansion of positive activities for young people, especially the most disadvantaged young people, there have to be ways for them to get to and from these activities. So a process of consultation, research and recommendations has produced some good practice ideas for local authorities to ensure they are doing their bit to come up with ideas to ensure activities are accessible.
