The charity's toolkit is designed for use by teachers after an attempted or successful suicide. The kit will support staff in helping young people express their feelings about the incident and cope with bereavement.
It will also contain advice on providing emotional support to both pupils and school staff, along with information on working with the local community. It will include suggestions on how to help those affected come to terms with what happened and leaflets advertising support.
Schools interested in taking part in the pilots should contact Tonja Schmidt at t.schmidt@samaritans.org.
