How is it different to traditional qualifications? It offers young people a combination of vocational and academic learning. Students get to try potential careers in the children and young people's workforce, health, justice and adult social care sectors as part of their everyday learning.
How does it work in Liverpool? The diploma is being delivered with a number of partners in the local area. At Alder Hey, young people are taught by hospital staff.
What do the young people learn? All learning and teaching is co-ordinated, managed and delivered by professional and clinical Alder Hey staff. The diploma is largely classroom-based with students undertaking a full 10-day work placement in their second year.
