The Peter Cruddas Foundation

1 min read Funding
Named after the millionaire businessman and philanthropist who set it up, the Peter Cruddas Foundation aims to benefit disadvantaged and disengaged young people in the UK through making grants for charitable work.

In addition to funding, it offers mentoring, business planning and networking support for charities. Cruddas came from a deprived part of London and credits the Scouts for his early business success, as it taught him self-discipline and self-confidence. Since its establishment in 2006, the foundation has donated in excess of £13m to numerous causes, including The Prince's Trust, Great Ormand Street Hospital and Willow Foundation.

What will it fund?

It gives priority to programmes calculated to help disadvantaged and disengaged young people in England and Wales towards pathways into education, training and employment. Funding priorities will sometimes change, but are currently: youth work in London, particularly evening work for disadvantaged young people aged 16 to 30; work experience/skills projects for young people aged 16 to 30; and pathways/support for disadvantaged or disengaged young people aged from 14 to 30 into education, training or employment. Funding is only open to charities registered in England and Wales.
