A report by ChildLine found that only one in four of the calls it receives are from boys. Girls are far more likely to call for help and when boys finally do call their problems are among the most severe that ChildLine deals with. Another Helpline called CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) is aimed exclusively at trying to help young men cope with suicidal feelings.
The CALM helpline is open between 5pm and 3am.
