The National Youth Agency: What's changed

1 min read Youth Work
What's Changed is a tool for groups to record the outcomes of participation by young people. Every other week we summarise an example of how young people have brought about change.

Organisation: London Borough of Newham - Operation Clean Sweep Issue To clean and improve the appearance of the local area

The situation: Young people living in the London Borough of Newham often complained that their area was dirty and the parks were untidy. A series of Operation Clean Sweep events were organised with young people being supported to clean their local area of litter and improve the immediate surroundings. What children and young people said

"It was cool - the park looks a lot better than it did before." "We had a fun day out." "The park and streets look much better than they did before."
