Volunteer Action is published each year to coincide with Volunteer's Week in June and distributed to youth groups around the UK. It celebrates the range of ways in which young people contribute to their communities and takes an intentionally broad definition of volunteering to include activities such as peer education, campaigning, youth led projects, involvement in decisions about local services and policies and community safety initiatives, as well as activities more traditionally defined as volunteering, such as running junior youth clubs, conservation projects or befriending older people.
If you're involved in or know of a youth project which might be suitable for inclusion, please send brief details and contact information to Carolyn Oldfield, Editor, Volunteer Action at The NYA.
