THE NATIONAL YOUTH AGENCY: New Volunteer Action goes to press

1 min read
This latest issue of Volunteer Action, The National Youth Agency's magazine that celebrates the ways in which young people contribute to their communities and take action on issues that matter to them, is now out. The full-colour 40-page magazine covers volunteering in its widest sense - from tackling racism through video, entertaining older people, running sports clubs for children and helping to develop services for young people.

Editor Carolyn Oldfield said: "As the stories in Volunteer Action tell us, many in young people's own words, everyone gains from volunteering.

Communities benefit from young people's enthusiasm, commitment and skills.

And young people get a chance to try out new activities, take on responsibilities, make friends, gain skills and develop insights into other lives."

Volunteer Action is published for Volunteers Week on 1-7 June, but can be used throughout the year to put young people's voluntary action on the map. To request bulk copies (in 50s) to distribute to your youth group, please email your address and quantity details to carolyno@nya.org.uk or davep@nya.org.uk.
