The National Youth Agency: Thoughts of Chairman How!

A new book from The National Youth Agency features the collected wit and wisdom of Children & Young People Now columnist Howard Williamson.

The book comprises more than a hundred of his perceptive and often challenging comment pieces from 2003 to 2006, offering insights and interest to everyone who cares about the way we support our young people. "Every youth worker has similar stories to tell" says former National Youth Agency chief Tom Wylie in an introduction to the collection. "But not everyone will have the confidence, skill or productive capacity to write it up. We should be grateful that Howard has taken on this role."

Several topics reappear - the importance of breakthrough moments, the idea of critical people at critical times and the deceptively structured nature of non-formal education.
