At the moment, a major role model that may influence a young person is Amy Winehouse. Recently in the media, there has been a lot of controversy about this troubled singer/songwriter. She has had hit records with Rehab and Back to Black, which both ended up in the top 10 of the music charts. However, apart from the singing she is also known for her drug problems - which landed her, ironically, in "rehab".
Some young people look up to her as a role model and imitate the way she dresses and looks. But is she a good role model?
Young people have different views on celebrities like this and they feel that she has raw talent but, because of her background, they would not like to imitate her. Kenan, 15, said: "She is wasting her talent through drugs."
