The National Youth Agency: Success for Coventry cybercafeenterprise

The 15 winning projects have all been initiated and led by young people, with up to 45,000 of government money available to each. In the second of our series of winner profiles, we take a look at Coventry City Council's Nettica Cybercafe project.

When Hamida Khalifa, a senior youth worker in the Stoke and Wyken areas of Coventry, saw that anti-social behaviour and petty crime in the area was increasing, she teamed up with representatives from local police to tackle the issues in a positive manner. Rather than imposing restrictions and penalties, the project sought the opinions and involvement of the young people themselves.
